The purpose of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's official social media accounts is to provide information about the MPCA and the programs, services, and products we provide. The MPCA social media team monitors official MPCA accounts but is not responsible for content generated by users. The MPCA requires users who choose to communicate on official MPCA social media platforms to adhere to the community terms of use.
As used herein, “post(s)” includes, but is not limited to, user-generated content such as comments, questions, messages, and images.
Limited Public Forum
The MPCA’S official social media accounts are limited public forums. Posts on an official social media account must be on topic. Posts that are off topic will be hidden or removed.
MPCA does not allow content that:
- Is off-topic or irrelevant to the original content published
- Is known to be false, misleading, or fraudulent
- Is profane, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, libelous, threatening, abusive, harassing or, incites or promotes violence or illegal activity
- Promote a specific political candidate or political party
- Communicates personally identifiable information of any person, including but not limited to home address, home or cell phone number, or personal email address
- Contains information that could reasonably compromise individual or public safety
- Promotes, fosters, or perpetuates harassment or discrimination on the basis of any legally protected class of persons under federal and state laws
- Solicits, promotes, or advertises a business or product, or proposes a commercial transaction
- Infringes on patents, copyrights, trade secrets or trademarks
By engaging with any of the MPCA social media accounts, you are agreeing to abide by these community terms of use. We reserve the right to hide, remove or ignore posts that violate these community terms. Repeated or egregious violations of these terms may result in the user being blocked from MPCA’s social media accounts. These community terms of use are subject to amendment or modification at any time.
